Among those aboard were First Officer Fariq Abdul Hamid, 27, who along with a fellow pilot violated airline rules in 2011 by allowing two young South African women into their cockpit during a flight, one of the women told Sydney-based Nine Network. The report included photos of the women in the cockpit, with one appearing to show them posing with a man resembling Fariq. Barely two weeks after Uganda’s president, Yoweri Museveni, signed the anti-gay law into bill, two Ugandan gay men were caught in a hotel by a lodging attendant having sex. According to reports, sexual moans were heard about 20 minutes  after the men had checked into the room they had booked at the hotel. The police were alerted by the lodging attendant who heard the men from a distance. They were busted shortly after police arrived at the scene.  

General Overseer of Tower of God Revival Ministry, Pastor Cletus Nzekwesiri Nwankwo and his wife are still recovering from the shock of being beaten almost to stupor by some other pastors in the Pentecostal church located at Akwakuma in Owerri West Council Area of Imo State. Over 200 Itsekiri and Ijaw communities in the Niger Delta affected by the Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Company, SNEPCo, 2011 Bonga Field crude oil spill have agreed to withdraw the suits against the oil company to facilitate payment of compensation to them. The resolution was taken at a peace meeting held by representatives of the affected communities in Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers states in Warri, Delta State. It was gathered that SNEPCo had already conceded to paying compensation to the communities along the coastlines whose fishing rights were impacted by the spill, but was uncomfortable with the avalanche of court actions against it. Chairman/coordinator of the impacted communities, Mr. Monday Francis, disclosed at the Warri meeting that the Presidency intervened in the feud between Shell and the oil communities and part of the agreement reached at the meeting was to withdraw the court cases.
