A 13-year-old girl has made some shocking confessions on how her biological father, Stephen Chimaraobi, and his friend, Paul Oha, defiled her for seven years in their Ojodu home in Lagos State. The police at Grammar School Division, Ojodu, conducted immediate arrest upon hearing this story. 42-year-old Chimaraobi, from Delta State, has remained single after his wife left him. His friend Oha, from Imo State, is married and has two kids. The new Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Tunde Ogunsakin Thursday warned that the existing ban on political rallies enforced by his predecessor, Joseph Mbu, was still in effect. Mbu had during the twilight of his reign as Commissioner of Police, put the ban in place citing the volatile nature of the state politics as an excuse. Speaking to Bloomberg News, a London-based tabloid, yesterday, Obasanjo said during the 2011 election campaigns, Jonathan promised not to serve beyond a single term. “President Jonathan said, not only once, twice, publicly, not only in Nigeria, outside Nigeria, that he would have one term, and said that to me,” Obasanjo said. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has denied allegations by the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Lamido Sanusi Lamido, over alleged missing $20 billion unaccounted for by the corporation. The group managing director of the NNPC, Mr Andrew Yakubu, said that Sanusi misrepresented facts in alleging that NNPC violated the presidential directive on kerosene subsidy. A document obtained by LEADERSHIP which Yakubu would present to the committee today, however, states the actual position with regard to the politics of the kerosene subsidy. Celebrated fraudster, Fred Ajudua, yesterday prayed a Lagos High Court, Ikeja, to compel the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arraign a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi, (rtd) for money laundering. In an application filed by his counsel, Olalekan Ojo, before the court presided by Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye, Ajudua challenged the competence of the 14 – count charge preferred against him by the anti-graft commission for allegedly defrauding Bamaiyi to the tune of about $5.9m (about N1bn). He alleged that the former Army Chief in his petition and statements to the EFCC alluded to a number of crimes to which he said the commission ought to charge him to court. Ajudua listed such crimes to include conspiracy, aiding and abetting, money laundering and corrupting of public officers. Consequently, Ajudua’s trial did not commence as scheduled. In a bizarre incident, the stomach of a Chinese woman who ate and drank too much, exploded while she was being operated on. The 58-year-old woman was hospitalised after she developed severe abdominal swelling due to excessive eating and drinking, state-run China News Service reported. During the operation, fire broke out when the gas burst out of her abdomen. The surgeons had to remove her entire stomach, the report quoted Wang Hao, a doctor at the Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital in Jiangsu province as saying. Wang said the incident occurred when the ethyl alcohol in the patient’s stomach came in contact with the electric surgical knife. “Normally, people will stop eating when they feel full. However, drinking alcohol during a rich meal can make people ignore their body’s signals, and they eat too much,” he said.
