Father Catches Man Defiling His Daughter In Oyo

Men of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested a man for allegedly defilin g a girl in Oluyole area of Ibadan. He was said to have been caught defiling the girl in a bush. The suspect allegedly lured the girl into the bush before forcefully having carnal knowledge of her, while the victim shouted for help. The victim’s cry reportedly drew the attention of her father, who rushed to the scene and caught the man in the act. State Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Clet-Ilobanafor, confirmed the story, saying, “The father of the victim, who reported the crime, said he heard his daughter screaming in a nearby bush and that when he rushed there, he saw the suspect on top of his daughter, having carnal knowledge of the victim by force. “The father said he saw the suspect holding the girl by the neck.” After rescuing the victim, the suspect was arrested and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID. 2 Friends Jailed For Stealing Aregbesola’s Phone

An Osun state High Court sitting in Osogbo has sentenced two friends,  Babatunde Ogunjobi and Oluwatoyin Yusuf, to 27 years imprisonment for stealing a mobile phone belonging to Osun state Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola. The convicts were said to have conspired together to steal Aregbesola’s phone at the Government Technical College, Osogbo on November 27, 2010 during the inauguration of the governor. Delivering his judgment, Justice Oyejide Falola said the convicts were guilty of the five counts charge of conspiracy, fraud, impersonation, obtaining property under false pretence and stealing levelled against them and thereby ordered them to serve a-27 year-jail term.

Baale, 4 Others Arrested For Murder

The police at Okokomaiko Division in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, have arrested the Baale of Mebamu Kingdom, Chief Mosiu Adio Hassan, and four others over the alleged murder of a woman. The woman was shot dead and secretly buried in the area without her husband’s consent to cover up the crime. P.M.NEWS  learnt that the couple was attacked because they are related to the former Baale known as Kolawale, who was dethroned by Hassan last year. The police also allegedly recovered arms during the arrest of the suspects who have been handed over to the State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, Lagos for further investigation. Lawyer Arrested for Attempting to Bribe EFCC Operatives

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a legal practitioner, Barrister Ayodele Owoka, 47, over allegations of bribery. He was arrested on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Commission’s office in Ikoyi, Lagos as he attempted to bribe a team of operatives investigating a case of contract inflation, abuse of office, stealing, embezzlement and misappropriation of funds at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, Ondo State. The suspect confessed that he offered the operatives N1.2 Million( One Million, Two Hundred Thousand Naira)  which was allegedly given to him by the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. O. A. Omotosho to bribe the team to soft pedal on  their investigations. Barrister Ayodele confessed that Omotosho gave him a total sum of N1.5 Million (One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira) but kept N300, 000 for his personal gain and offered the operatives the balance of N1.2Million as bribe.
