2015: "APC Has Contempt For Nigerians" - PDP Blasts Opposition Party Over Hiring American Firm For Elections

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Wednesday, expressed shock over the announcement by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that it has engaged the services of a foreign firm, AKPD Message and Media, to boost its electoral chances in the 2015 election

According to the opposition party spokesperson, Lai Mohammed, the Chicago-based firm, which was involved in the election of President Barack Obama of the U.S, is to be hired.
Reacting to the announcement, the PDP urged Nigerians to resist this attempt by the APC to 'throw the nation back to imperialism, 54 years after independence'.
The ruling party statement, issued through its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said this was not only a clear justification of its stand that the APC is anti-Nigeria, but another insult on the hard working citizens of the country.
"In engaging the services of a foreign firm, the APC has shown that it does not have faith in our people, our indigenous consultancy firms and the teeming well qualified, world acclaimed Nigerian professionals and technocrats. That APC has an inner contempt for Nigerians, which is no longer hidden."
Moreover, the statement also said it is now apparent that the leadership of the opposition party may have perfected plans to use the same foreign interests to siphon national resources and reverse the pro-national socio-economic foundation laid by the founding fathers of Nigeria.
Claiming that this move is against Nigerians, the PDP urged people to continue noting actions of the APC, adding that it (APC) "has clearly shown that it has no regard for the talents of the people it seeks to govern (and) can never win the trust of Nigerians."
